How does it work?

Attesting French documents can be complex, since the process depends on the type of document being attested and for which purpose. We’ve outlined a general process for the attestation of French documents below, but keep in mind these may vary based on several factors. Get in touch to ensure you get the most accurate service for your circumstances.

Initial

Certification

Solicitor Certification

The document will need to certified by a government-registered solicitor in France before an Apostille can be applied.

Translation

Translation from French to English

The UAE Embassy only accepts documents in either Arabic or English, so your documents will be translated before the rest of the process can take place.

Ministry of Foreign

Affairs in France

Apostille Legalisation

An Apostille will be applied by the Bureau des légalisations at the Ministère de l’Europe et des Affaires étrangères (Ministry of Foreign Affairs).

UAE Embassy

in Paris

UAE Embassy Attestation

The document will be taken to the UAE Embassy in Paris, where a consular stamp will be applied, readying it for use in the UAE.

Ministry of Foreign

Affairs in UAE

MoFA Attestation (UAE)

The final step is to take the document to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) in the UAE, where a stamp will be applied that certifies it for any official use in the UAE.

Reminders

  • The UAE Embassy in France won’t legalise any documents that have already been legalised by another consulate.
  • If you are legalising a birth or wedding certificate, it must be no more than 3 months old.
  • Due to a new regulation, it is no longer possible to make certified copies of documents that are not in French. Anyone holding a diploma issued in France that is in another language will need to ask the concerned school to issue a certificate in French instead.
  • We are unable to obtain any certificates on your behalf.

Documents from any Country.

We’re able to attest a range of documents for use in the UAE, no matter where you’re from. You can rest assured that by using our service, your attested documents will be accepted within the UAE.
